Our hunting area for woodcocks, Karabalia, is located between Macedonia, Greece and Bulgaria, on the banks of Lake Dojran. These areas are hot, approximately 60km from the Mediterranean sea, of medium height mountains covered in typical macchia vegetation, very attractive for woodcocks. Woodcocks reach these areas in the end of October and spend the winter, staying until March, when they start their migration. One can easily come across 10 or more woodcocks per day with a good dog, which makes this area one of the best in WEUrope for this type of birds. On Lake Dojran, a good population of ducks stays during the winter months, which can be hunted in the afternoon. In the agricultural planes surrounding the lake there are many quails and doves during the summer and partridges in autumn.
Dojran village hosts a family owned 3 star hotel with excellent local cuisine, where the hunters will be lodging during their stay, and where we have spaces available for hosting dogs.

We offer the possibility to purchase an annual package on migratory birds, starting from August 1 through March 31. The hunter may hunt quails and doves in August/September and woodcocks and ducks from October through the end of March. The number of birds and the number of hunting days are without limit. This area is famous as a migration corridor of the Balkans and migratory birds are numerous.
