Canada – Black Bear

 In Canada

May 15 – June 21

Black Bear is the most widespread bear species in America. After coming out of winter hibernation by end of May their main interest is food. They are visiting well managed baits on regular basis all day long with higher intensity during afternoon till dusk: one to three bears on bait is a daily average. Bigger bears come out of dens by early June because winter in Canada lasts long. They are slim after winter hibernation but their size is between 100 and 200 kg in average. The biggest bear recorded from that province had 416 kg.
