Spain – Monterias
November – February
The Spanish Monterias is a typical Spanish big game driven hunt, with the participation of hundreds of dogs and a large number of beaters. Commonly, trophy Red stag, does and wild boar are hunted on these hunts, but some hunting areas offer other game as well. Monterias are organized for groups of 25 to 70 hunters, depending on the size of the hunting area and game density. We have picked for you several areas where groups of 25 hunters are formed, with high game density and good trophy quality.
Each hunter draws a number with his position during the hunt at the traditional group breakfast and they will be taken to their position by the guides. All harvested game by each hunter is indicated to the drivers with dogs after the hunt , who will mark the ownership of the game and gather all harvested animals for a common group photograph, while the hunters have lunch.
The Monterias that we have picked for you are held 2 – 3 hours driving from Madrid, where the hunters should fly to and where they will be met at the airport. Lodging is foreseen in the best local hotels, half an hour driving from the hunting area at most.
These Monterias can be booked by individual hunters and bookings will be taken until reaching the maximum number of 25 participants.
